you do everything that they ask you to...cause you...
we’re up all night ‘til the sun
immersed in water, immersed in dirt
lie for a while with your ear against the earth
brainy, brainy, brainy
you know my darling I can’t stand to sleep alone
it's in my honey, it's in my milk
I won’t treat you like you’re oh so typical
give me the creeps of painful like
what’s in your handbag? tag, you’re it!

You spoke like broken thunder deep into the centre of me

Most of the scrapbook art I’ve put on this blog so far has been about  pain, pleasure, obsession, secrets, manipulation, loss, the fear of loss, and yearning. All the pages that are now in my Artwork section are drawn from the darker side of my life and self - from nights spent with people that enjoyed giving me pain, in one way or another, and whose torture I sought as if there were nothing else worth having. From nights spent in tears, or re-reading emails until they lost the ability to make me smile. None of it has been about love. They were about the absence of love, which can sometimes feel like the same thing. I’ve started a new scrapbook recently, one given to me by Maija, and so far the pages are very gentle, and focus on 3D embellishment. And they’re totally free of bondage, you’ll be happy to see. I wouldn’t say they are about love exactly, either…but I’m getting there. Hopefully one day I will be able to make something unashamedly romantic without vomiting into my Earl Grey, but that day is not come yet.

I actually love the 'Look at me' one :O so good. You have said what is implied in most fashion editorials, but it makes it a more powerful image.

Love Katie xx

Your collaged embellishments never fail to impress me. Love and passion are such broad subjects you can take it wherever you wish, positively or negatively! I think mushy romantic collages wouldn't have the same powerful effect - most perceptions of true romanticism are warped by clichés anyway!

Amazing work as always hun!

Why would we/I be happy there's no bondage??:) I'm red from your kiss... I remember when me and my boyfriend got first together and we used to kiss like we're getting payed to and we were both red like we got lipstick smeared all over our faces.:) Oh, the good times...

P.S.: Rhinestone lips, those would be so cool. J Lo has them in one of her videos, it looks so ... Bling. I guess that's the only appropriate word.:)

I love the new, gentler feel to these scrapbook pages. The faces in the photographs look perhaps innocent, naive. The simple statements you pair the photos and embellishments with are really striking, they really make you think :) I love all the detail xx

Obsessed with this. And this line: They were about the absence of love, which can sometimes feel like the same thing.

Your writing is spot on incredible. I love scrapbook art. It is seriously my absolute favorite kind of art. I am so glad I found your blog. It's already one of my favorites.

These are gorgeous! In fact, you're totally inspiring me to wanna make a collage right now, 'cause I haven't made one in a frighteningly long time. Also, I'm sure whatever inspires you to make a collage (or anything else for that matter) can be appreciated and loved by someone, even if it's bondage or pain.
